Arboretum Stroll

Note that only in Pacific Northwest will it look like this in the end of June.

On Sunday afternoon we decided to check out the Japanese garden at the south end of the Arboretum. I honestly think we couldn't have picked a better day to go. Although the sky was looking pretty gloomy, for the most part, the weather was actually pretty warm and it didn't rain on us (which is always a plus). The park wasn't too crowded because it's still early in the season so we got to enjoy the garden peacefully. When you're checking in at the main entrance there is fish feed available for $1..I suggest making that purchase if you do ever visit; feeding the Koi Fish was undoubtedly the best part, or at least the most fun part.

Above are the Koi Fish during feeding. I was trying my absolute best to lure them away from this poor turtle swimming near by; he kept getting pushed under and slapped by the frantic fish. And can I just say, man their mouths open up wide! Some of the larger fish were pretty intimidating with their large round mouths and slightly crazy eyes.

The park was so incredibly lush and green, it was beautiful.

Now, I'm so accustomed to having my sister take my pictures for my blog - she also writes one so when we're together we can trade off playing photographer and model. With my boyfriend however, I'm a little camera shy still so I have to force him to get in front of the camera first so that I can relax and get in the groove of things. It's funny that I'm so shy about it still..It's been well over a year since I've started blogging and considering the fact that we now live together and have shared many personal things with each other, you'd think snapping some pictures would be no big deal. Ah well, he sure does look good on camera so neither of us should be complaining....huh Gilles?

Here I am! Just trying to rescue that turtle I was telling you about.

Although I don't look too happy in this photo, I assure you I am. I just loved the way my blouse looked with the breeze kind of playing with its shape. I found this top at the new Goodwill on Capitol Hill. Its by a label called Gypsy which is fitting with its whimsical fabric and easy shape. Plus, it was made in Hollywood, CA I'm a sucker for clothing made in the USA. Hence the American Apparel shorts to go with this outfit.

And the little details, keeping it simple as always.
