Orlando Photo Diary - Party One.

I recently made a short trip down to Orlando, Florida to visit my sister Grace and her boyfriend Andres. We spent a lot of time with their friends drinking, relaxing, and laughing too hard. I'm sad it was such a short trip but here are some of the moments from the first day/night there.

I spent the majority of the time behind the camera but here I am wringing out my curly hair in my Triangl bikini.

This is the incredibly talented and lovely Victor, my Orlando bestie, I'll let you know once he has his own blog up and running....hopefully sooner rather than later!

Check out quarterwater.com for some SERIOUSLY awesome stuff created by my talented friend Andrew Adames.

There is more to come from my days spent in the Sunshine state. Until then see my Instagram for my shameless selfies and outfit updates from the trip, also if you're a friend on Facebook you'll soon be blasted with all of the goofy pictures that didn't make it on this blog post. Last but not least, check out my sister's amazing blog ROM which should be updated within the coming weeks!

Ophelia

A couple of weeks ago my boyfriend and I adopted this sweet little kitten. She is honestly the most perfect addition to my life, she is feisty and extremely playful but also quite cuddly and affectionate. If I could I would quit my job just to play with her all day! Well that's a bit much isn't it? After all she has shown me her slightly more demonic side, waking us up at 6 am in full play mode. None the less I love her just the same :)

Her coloring is a little funny; when we were first looking at her (we found her through a post on Craigslist) we were laughing at her funny mask-like face. I told my boyfriend "aw, she's....unique" which she is! I can appreciate her appearance more now that I've observed her personality; charming. She almost looks like an orange tabby. She has parts on her back legs and face that are so clearly striped orange and white and then it's as if someone poured brown and black paint over her back. I love this little exotic kitten!

Uninspired Liar

So clearly by "I'll post again later this week" I meant I'll post something about a week from now. I've been lacking in inspiration lately but that hasn't kept me away from the camera. I'm really not interested in wasting anyones time here; I don't want to write down something shitty or make anything up to appear more interesting to anyone. So here are some pictures that don't really have any significance other than this is what I wore to work a few days ago and I think it's really easy to transition into an evening ensemble...you know, for a date or something (then again my idea of a hot date is a marathon of Prison Break on the couch with my honey - exciting I know).

Wearing: Ponte pants & sleeveless knit both from Zara, blazer from Forever21, bag & sandals both from Urban Outfitters.

Like that little lip-pucker right there? Yeah not sure what I was saying/thinking but my boyfriend caught me...I don't know it's quirky I guess.

Animals in Their Cages

These last few days in Seattle have been absolutely gorgeous! The sun was out for the greater half of last week and finally we had some warm weather over the weekend. I mean, I'll take what I can get, but it was nice to actually be able to spend some time outside on my days off rather than hiding from the rain with snacks and Netflix (I won't lie to you, snacks and Netflix did happen this weekend). But what also happened was a magical sunday spent at the zoo.

I felt like a little kid again, getting excited as we approached each exhibit. We mainly wanted to focus our attention on Elephants, Orangoutangs, Spiders & Snakes. Unfortunately the glass on the snake and spider parts was causing too much of a reflections...but trust, it was grossly awesome.

Supporting my strong opinion that one can never be over-dressed, I wore this leather mini to the park. I felt that the green shade was jungle-esque and blended quite nicely. I'm happy to report too that I was a little toasty in this light-weight pullover, maybe summer is closer than we thought!!

Early Birdy

You know those obnoxious people who seem to hit their peak of energy first thing in the morning? You know who I'm talking about; the ones who get up and immediately start cleaning and organizing, or get a little exercise in before work or class...The type of people who enjoy running errands at 10 am on the weekend and actually eat breakfast every morning. Well sadly, I'm one of them.

My name is Olivia and I am a morning person.

Yes it's true, nothing gives me greater pleasure than waking up a couple of hours early to leisurely eat breakfast while watching a complete episode of CSI or Law & Order. Solving a crime before I even shower gives me an odd sense of accomplishment. Now even if work is shitty or if I lazy-around all day it won't matter, I did something productive during my first hour of open eyes. Did you? Sucker. I know you didn't solve a crime this morning while eating your toast with jam. Unless that is you are the single cop in the world who reads my blog and you're waving your index saying "nu uh honey you aren't the only one, no ma'am." Well kudos to you good sir thank you for protecting our streets.

My breakfast was particularly tasty this morning thanks to my wonderful employers who gifted me this aged homemade jam. Black-raspberry is my favorite!

Another plus to waking up early is that it feels like I'm going to work at 1 in the afternoon rather than first thing in the morning. I don't feel rushed or like I've forgotten something (although normally, even I have). Its like I have half the day before work and half the day after work, well all thanks to a sunset that happens later and later each day!

This morning I watched Dexter. Solved a murder-suicide just in time to pack lunch and hop in the shower. Also...Michael C. Hall is such a dream!

Sun Kisses

Thank freakin' finally the sun shined its beautiful rays across downtown today. Then again, it seems like every week in March has had a springy start and then ended in miserable, chilly rain. Well here we go again, another gorgeous Monday wasted spent in the the office underneath terrible lighting. Believe it or not I actually love my job; but I think I love the sun even more. Luckily our days are growing longer and I can still enjoy the weather for a couple hours after work! That's probably the thing I look forward to most for summer - daylight until nearly 10pm. Something about the sun and daylight hours makes me feel like I have an infinite amount of time and that I can do almost anything.

Other than work I really didn't do much today. I was able to enjoy the outdoors for a little bit with my honey. We just walked down towards the water and scoped out some cool spots, daydreaming about tiny adventures and photo-shoot opportunities (sadly that's just the way my head works). Then I came home; the hair went up, the cereal was poured, and Dexter began to play. I've already seen most of the series all the way through (with the exception of the final two seasons) but I'm that neurotic and anti-social that I rematch shows relentlessly on Netflix. I was going to enjoy the laziness of my night and wait to put this up until tomorrow but while scrolling through my Tumblr dashboard the two-song series about love & home by the Cinematic Orchestra began to play and I was inspired.

What I wore to work today: Cropped mock-neck Forever21, cardigan sweater Nordstrom, pants & belt Urban Outfitters, bag BAGGU, bracelet American Eagle, mules Vintage Aldo via ATLAS in Fremont.

Early Signs of Spring

Do you know that old expression - when you start dating someone you suddenly have little time for anything else? Okay so maybe that's not actually an expression but let's get real, we all know that it happens. I'm not saying that it's necessarily good or bad, healthy? Probably not entirely, impossible to avoid when you have deep feelings for the person? Yeah, pretty much. Aside from that I have to be honest and admit that my creative juices haven't been flowing at the pace they normally do. That is not to say that I'm lacking inspiration but rather motivation to act on my inspirations. Along with the fact that Seattle's weather never seems to be as nice on the weekend as it is during the work week (woe's of a typical 9-5er), I just couldn't work myself up enough to pulling out the camera and documenting a day.

Enough explaining, I have finally done it! This past Saturday was intended for recovery from Friday...but we managed to keep busy of course. On fairly empty bellies we made the trek up to Capitol Hill from Pioneer Square; not something I normally complain about. However, we were on a major time crunch which resulted in tired feet and sweaty backs (sorry for the gross details). It may not look like it, but man it was toasty on Saturday. Here's the thing about spring in Seattle, it feels nice outside but chances are there will be more overcast/rainy days than blue skies. Honestly, I don't mind; I'm just happy that the shivering can come to an end.

Up on the hill we watched a friend compete in a Lindy-Hop dance competition at the Century Ballroom. When I was little my sister and I attempted to learn to Swing dance properly; it was loads of fun and being at that competition this weekend was incredible and made me want to get into it again! After leaving Century Ballroom we popped into Linda's Tavern for brunch...I would have loved to snap some evidence of our delicious meals but remember the part where I mentioned empty bellies? Yeah, they make for quickly-emptied plates. Sorry all, next time. These pictures are outside of some collegiate looking building across the street. I want to say Seattle U but sadly I cannot confirm.

Introducing my dear friend Kaisha (you may have seen her on my sisters blog: ROM )

and drum roll please................

My gorgeous boyfriend the one who's been consuming all of my time lately. This 7-foot, basketball playing, rap music bumping, potty mouth knew all the words to Come on Eileen the other night...it's true love.

Until next time,
