Good morning to all! I wanted to take a moment to discuss the future. It seems that towards the end of each year everyone starts to prepare for "whats next". I find that making plans and budgets, reassessing ideas or decisions, and reflecting on what is past, to be very relaxing and almost therapeutic. So I'm sure you can imagine that the prospect of a fresh start is very exciting to me! Now of course it's easy to get carried away with dreams of what is still to come - putting the present on the back burner and not enjoying the spectacular now (go see that movie), BUT that is why I try my absolute best to make room for both my dreams and my day-to-day life. I try to soak in the time that I spend with my friends and family, or walking around this beautiful city in which I live, and to really learn from it and enjoy it. But when I'm home alone, most likely staring out my massive living room window or listening to music, I consider all of the wonderful adventures I might have later in life; where I'll go next, who I'll meet, what I'll be wearing when I meet them. And those day dreams truly are what help me sleep at night.
I have many hopes for the new year. I'd like to get a cheaper apartment, that's on the top of my priorities. Perhaps I'll go back to school too, I still have one year left but this break from the classroom has been wonderful and I'm not positive about whether or not I even want to go back. But I have applied to transfer to a couple of places, just to keep my options open; I'll talk more on that subject later. I think something that I'm really lacking currently is a girlfriend or group of girlfriends to share secrets with, get dressed up with and do all of the other lovely, girly things that I enjoy so much. I'd say making friends in Seattle is second on my list of priorities (after the apartment of course). Taking a trip or two would be awesome as well! I suppose it can't hurt to earn some more cash then too...
With all of that said, I guess the main thing that I wanted to talk about today is this blog right here, if you're reading this then I am happy! And my only goal for this is to keep you reading and engaged for the rest of the year. I plan on posting a minimum of twice a week. I'd like to do one photo-heavy post and one writing-heavy post each week. I know not a lot of people are too interested in reading my lengthy rants so I will incorporate a video or pictures as well, but for the most part those sort of posts are meant to show you more of who I am as a person and to improve my writing and communication skills...I tend to be a bit of a shut-in. So there you have it! What do you think? What are your plans for the New Year?
Until next time, xoxo.
