Fall Staple: Wool Trousers

Here is how I styled them, some chunky Black Boots, A cropped black knit sweater, and simple jewelry. Ta-Da took zero effort, I was warm and comfortable, and I scored a few compliments from my classmates.

No matter what kind of genre your style normally falls into, this is an item that every lady needs in her wardrobe. You just can't go wrong with a pair of menswear inspired trousers! Whether you're wanting to go for that androgynous look, or a chic business casual, or you just want to be warm and comfortable while still appearing to be somewhat put together, this type of pant is the go-to.

I purchased my plum colored wool trousers at Salvation Army a few months ago; not only are they 80% Merino Wool, fully lined, with pleated detailing, nice large pockets, AND a flattering high-waist cut, but they were also $12!!

Witchy Woman

It's F R I D A Y!!! Thank goodness, this has been such a long week for me. I almost wasn't going to post today but then I got home and was feeling the vibe. I put on my favorite record ATM (King Krule of course) and got to work!

Today was presentation day at Western apparently, which had my nerves all in a bundle. I knew that I was going to be a hot sweaty mess so I opted for an all black ensemble. This look totally backed up one of my presentations too where I discussed the different contexts of Quartz Crystals. I walked through the orange and red foliaged campus, the wind blowing my hair and all the leaves on the ground up in circular motions, I had my crystals in my bag and I felt like it was a scene straight out of Practical Magic. Such a powerful way to end my work week!

Wearing Pico Vela Tunic, Jeffrey Campbell Boots

Well today was stressful, but I survived. I'm off to watch Halloweentown and to relax for the rest of the night. Enjoy your Friday night!!

Sporty

Everything revolves around the jacket.

I found this vintage Adidas sports jacket a Goodwill probably 6 months ago. It is the single greatest thing that has ever happened to my closet. It's so casual and lightweight, it's perfect for running in the rain, or for those "lazy-but-somehowputtogether-looks. It also just kicks up this weird 90's ex-cheerleader look to a badass level. It's a little all over the place, with the small shoe-lace X's on both sides, and the half stripes on the back/left side. But that's what's great about it! The written out label, instead of the standard 3-leaf insignia that they're known for as a brand, screams bowling jacket to me; and isn't that just so wonderful??

Everything else photographed is American Apparel, the shoes are Converse, the necklace is from Dogeard and all rings are vintage.

Soft Tones

This is just a simple outfit-of-the-day post. I'm crunched for time these days, I guess I forgot how much reading I'd be required to do at school (I'm an English major so that's a little ridiculous). Anyway, it's supposed to be a beautiful, warm day today so I opted for something casual and somewhat springy. These vintage, sage colored, silk trousers by Tommy Bahama were the ultimate Goodwill find from a thrifting trip I took last spring. I paired it with this Angora mock-necked, muscle type top from ASOS, and simple black slide sandals from Forever21. While the morning has been a little chilly I threw on this black cotton cardigan from Urban Outfitters for warmth.

This week is kind of a "project" week for me as far as classes go, so any posts will be short and basic but I do hope to work on something a little more extensive and exciting either this weekend or the following to share with you here. Until next time -
